One clinical trial studied a standardized extract as an oral syrup alongside topical petrolatum for people with chronic hand eczema, so it did not measure this ingredient used alone in a cosmetic. Another study examined a face mask containing the extract around a photorejuvenation procedure; because both a procedure and a full formula were involved, its results cannot promise the same effect from every product listing this INCI name.
