In cosmetic manufacturing, POLYSILICONE-11 is commonly supplied as a swollen gel in a silicone carrier or another solvent. The ingredient list therefore identifies the silicone network, but it does not by itself reveal the carrier used with that material or the finished product's texture.
POLYSILICONE-11: what it does in cosmetics
POLYSILICONE-11 forms a thin, continuous film as a product is applied. In makeup and leave-on care, that kind of film helps keep the product spread as an even layer across the surface rather than leaving the finish to liquid ingredients alone.
The published safety assessment describes it as a film former and found it safe for the use practices and concentrations it examined. That does not show that POLYSILICONE-11 on its own moisturizes, treats acne, reduces wrinkles, or fades dark spots: the available tests include creams, lipsticks, and mixtures, not a clinical performance claim for the isolated ingredient.
