Its name is not interchangeable with Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate. The two can occur together in commercial emulsifiers, but the stearate is linked to stearic acid while the behenate is linked to behenic acid. That distinction matters because the performance of a blend containing both ingredients does not, by itself, describe Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate on its own.

In a lotion or cream, stabilising an emulsion means helping water and oil stay distributed together instead of separating into layers. For the person using the product, that supports an even appearance and a texture that remains consistent in use; it is not a promise of moisturising or skin treatment.
Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate also occurs in emulsifiers used for light oil-in-water emulsions. Performance information for those combinations can show stability in demanding formulas, but it involves more than one ingredient and the complete recipe. It therefore cannot support claims that the behenate alone provides sun protection, water resistance, or an improvement in the skin.
