A study of egg-yolk phosphatidylcholine examined emulsifying properties in emulsions, and the CIR assessment also lists lecithin for emulsifying and skin-conditioning uses. Those findings explain a formulation use, not a clinical test of a cream; they do not show that isolated phosphatidylcholine treats acne, wrinkles, dark spots, or another skin condition.
PHOSPHATIDYLCHOLINE: conditions and care
The CIR assessment of lecithin recommends avoiding use in cosmetics likely to be inhaled and in formulas capable of forming N-nitroso compounds. This is a formulation condition, not a warning that every topical product containing phosphatidylcholine causes harm.
