Oryza Sativa sh-Polypeptide-159 is a single chain recombinant peptide produced by Oryza sativa after transformation with either a transient expression system or transgenesis (stable insertion of a copy of the synthetic gene into its DNA). The starting gene is synthesized to be identical to the human gene which codes for Lysosomal acid glucosylceramidase is used as such or adapted to the production host. It contains a maximum of 536 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation. The protein consists of the proper sequence of the 20 standard amino acids.
