LYSINE: what it does in cosmetics
In hair products, lysine may be used for hair conditioning and an antistatic effect. In practical terms, those roles can help limit flyaway static and support hair that feels easier to comb, softer, or more manageable after use.
For skin, conditioning means helping keep the skin in good condition in terms of appearance and feel. These cosmetic roles do not show that lysine on its own treats acne, wrinkles, dark spots, or disease; research on oral lysine intake does not measure that outcome from a topical cosmetic.
