BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1
BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1, also called Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, is an ingredient made by reacting biotin with Tripeptide-1. It is not pure biotin: it is a molecule in which biotin is linked to a short peptide made from three amino-acid units.

BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1: what it is
BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1, also called Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, is an ingredient made by reacting biotin with Tripeptide-1. It is not pure biotin: it is a molecule in which biotin is linked to a short peptide made from three amino-acid units.
That link between the two parts is what sets it apart from an isolated vitamin and from other peptides used in cosmetics. It should also not be confused with Copper Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, a different compound that contains copper.
BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1: what it does in cosmetics
BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1 is used in hair products as a hair-conditioning ingredient. In everyday terms, that role is intended to make hair easier to manage and leave a more pleasant feel after application, rather than cleanse the hair.
Its name can suggest biotin supplements, but this molecule is not the same as biotin taken on its own by mouth. Its recognised cosmetic use is hair conditioning; that does not support claims that it makes hair grow or treats hair loss.
